I received this email from Officer White on Friday. It is concerning the man who has been trespassing in Whitley Heights and menacing many residents. Sorry for the delayed response as I just got back from vacation and am working through my backlog of emails. I'm also sorry for your troubles with Kawika Barrett...
While I was out, I was still able to build a criminal trespass case against him and will be filing the charges shortly. Once everything is completed, he will be arrested and go to court. We will likely seek out a stay away order to prevent him from wandering through Whitley Heights and trespassing on everyone's property. That's a very brief explanation of the process, but hopefully it helps give you some insight.

Thank you Patty for your updates. We all know that Kawika has numerous issues and creates a constant problem. We experienced his presence during the recent neighborhood clean up. The only way our city employees can help us is to report all incidence. Hopefully he can get the assistance he need, but we need to be persistent in reporting episodes. We all need to be aware and informed. We also need to understand the hurdles our first responders have to meet. Please stay connected and we appreciate everyone's commitment to our neighborhood.
