Car Break In - Watsonia Terrace

Friends and neighbors: On Sunday, I foolishly left cash intended to be deposited in the bank in my car for a portion of the Easter evening. My car was in our driveway, brightly exposed under an exterior light. As these things can happen, I was distracted with Easter, and left the cash in my car four about 6 hours. It was not visible to sight. When I returned in the late evening, around 10pm, I found my car interior a mess, and the cash, which was neatly placed in an envelope inside a concealed place, gone. $$$$ was in the mid four figure range. The car was locked.

The loss stings a little, and I am ticked at myself for the absentmindedness. The thief left a small flashlight in my car, which was illuminated when I arrived. A police report has been filed, and the light was turned in to the police as evidence. I hope this notification can help others from the omnipresent exposure to crime. I am confident this person or persons continues to target our neighborhood, and I unfortunately gave them cause to return. The police detective was truly a gem. He shared that it is unfortunate that this stuff is happening with greater and greater frequency across our great city. I found him very sincere when he shared that the robust growth is substantially a result of a greater release of bad guys from jails in California, and it being more difficult for the police to put these guys behind bars. I will take it upon myself to share my concerns with our public officials. My foolishness can be dealt with at my level, but we all need our legislature to set policies that protect the greater good of California and our city.
