The deadline date for COMMENTS to Planning Dept. for 1920 Whitley Ave. is Oct. 28th, not Sept. 4th.
Sept. 4th was the deadline for APPEALS..
Oct. 28th is also the tentative date for the Planning Commission Hearing for 1920 Whitley Ave.
Please disregard if you received HHWNC Area 3 notification with incorrect date.

Yes..that is the form letter CD4 is sending out..It is mis-representative and many are contacting them to let them know. There was no better project for the area created via community input. The developer never returned to the NC so that never happened. He blew off the NC, the communities, and Hollywood Heritage proposals to save the original building..HH also submitted their alternative to demo proposals, which would require a CEQA review, explaining the importance of that, to HHWNC PLUM Committee in a letter. However, since he never returned to HHWNC Area 3, project never made it to HHWNC PLUM Committee or to the full board.
Since Measure JJJ voters voted only that density bonuses in JJJ /TOC projects cannot be less than 35%, and they never voted for double or triple density bonuses, we've learned it is THE CITY planning dept. giving this 70% density bonus...
The more people that object to that huge density bonus, in a Very High Fire Severity Zone, Alquist Priolo Zone, Hillside Zone, Special Grading Zone, all Zones that prohibit density bonuses above 35% to 'prevent adverse impacts on public health and safety', to Planning Dept.(Nuri.Cho@lacity.org) and CD4 the better.
From what we are learning, the double, triple bonuses dept of planning is giving for TOC projects (they are very new and many problems are already arising with them, as with this one) are not in stone, and communities impacted by these decisions need to speak out.
