Planning Commission Hearing..Tues, June 28, 2022..Please SUPPORT 1723-1731 N. Wilcox Ave...RSO Housing being replaced with Hotel 'APPEAL'

1723-1731 N. Wilcox Ave.....

If you’re opposed to another hotel in this area, replacing RSO housing, this one replacing FIVE existing two story multifamily residential buildings, with a seven story 81 room hotel, right next door to The Whiskey Hotel going up there now..... Please call in and/or submit comments supporting the 'UNITE HERE LOCAL 11' APPEAL. Written submissions and call in info. on AGENDA below. The Area Planning Commission is hearing an Appeal of the approval, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28, 2022 @ 4:30PM.. If it does go to court, your comments will be part of the record and could have an impact. After many HHWNC 'Joint Committee Meetings' where the Hotel project was 'presented' with community/stakeholder input, HHWNC could not support the project..and submitted a 'Community Impact Statement' (CIS), expressing their opposition. Opposition due to a number of 'issues', i.e. ...Impacts on the residential community on Wilcox, and not the least of which, the Loss of more Affordable/RSO (Rent Stabilized) Housing for another Hotel in this area, in the midst of an affordable housing and homeless crisis...:. Project was originally presented to the NC as a new residential project with more residential and (greatly needed) affordable units than the existing complex, but morphed into another hotel project, to be built next door to 'The Whiskey Hotel' going up now. That's 'side by side' hotels. Loss of RSOs, etc. This is going on alot in this (CD13) area of Hollywood.... Why is LA Turning Housing into Hotel Rooms? Whitley Ave. 40 RSO unit complex being replaced with a hotel project..due to Displacement of nearly 100 RSO residents and Loss of RSO Housing for a Hotel)
