So happy to report that the Lost Doggie was returned to his owner this afternoon!! Petco was able to tell me that he had a chip and then, through the chip registry, contact the owner. A few hours later, the owner called me and was SO HAPPY that "Peanut" had been found! The owner was staying with his mother at a hotel down on Whitley Avenue and told me that Peanut had wriggled out of his too-large collar while on a walk with the owner's mother a couple of days ago. I praised the owner for how well behaved the little doggie was and how just plain sweet he was. He slept next to my husband's legs all night and never made a peep. Thank you to the several neighbors who expressed interest in adopting him, but I'm really happy he's back with his family who clearly love him! And thank you to all the pet owners who have put chips on their pets! What a great idea!
