Sunday afternoon noise from Dream Hotel
Some of you may be hearing a bit of noise on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. wafting up from the Dream Hotel. At that time, there is a roof-top pool party with loud music that is being blasted from the hotel at 6417 Selma Ave.
I called up the hotel to complain about the noise and talked to their director of nightlife, Scott Radius, who said I was not the first person to call. He had gotten a complaint from a nearby condo complex. He said the Dream Hotel was working with the Los Angeles Police Department, including our liaison officer Ben Thompson, to resolve the problem and that they had a sound company come over about one week ago to help them figure out where to put their microphones to cut down on the noise. But yesterday, on Sunday, the noise could still be heard.
Scott said that if there are any complaints about noise, to let him know. His cell phone is 954-816-9719. Also, the managing director of the hotel is Ayo Akinsete. His number is 917-370-3215.

Evidently, The Dream Hotel operates an illegal nightclub on their rooftop. It's been a problem since their 3rd day of opening. They were busted twice last summer for public dancing and twice for charging a cover charge, both of which are not allowed. Yes, email/call Officer Ben Thompson, LAPD VICE.

This hearing is an opportunity to speak out or submit comments and let city leaders know we are saturated with roof top deck bars, nightclubs, and entertainment venues, noise, music, etc., in this area.. There are at least SEVENTEEN more hotels coming to our area (as Hollywood Chamber excitedly brags about) They all will request and GET Roof Top Decks....the City's NEW 'Open Space' element in the higher density, vertical city they're creating in Hollywood...roof tops are the only place available for any open space. How many more can this area take?
