We heard Gov. Gavin Newsom is UNHAPPY that this destructive housing density bill was approved in Appropriations, with three of the nine members refusing to vote.  It's a reckless and unprecedented takeover of local zoning, letting market-rate developers overrun ALL single family streets in California. SB 1120 is backed by high-end developers. Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins, married to a developer, abandoned her promise of a strong COVID-19 affordable housing bill.  SB 1120 is a disgrace!  EMAIL Gov. Newsom NOW to veto SB 1120 if it gets to his desk:  https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov40mail/ SB 1120 destroys homeownership in stable communities including South L.A., inviting rental giants like Irvine Co. to pave over single-family homes to build unaffordable rentals — especially in Black and Latino communities too close to rail or downtown areas to survive this ugly, bizarre bill.

Last Saturday's South L.A. 'OPPOSE SB 1120 (zoom) Town Hall' had 350 attendees from around the State, opposing SB 1120! SB 1120 is coming for everyone, to every neighborhood!

Stop SB 1120. Reach out to Gov. Newsom now!  https://govapps.gov.ca.gov/gov40mail/

Changing zoning rules might be easy in smaller states but California is 164,000 square miles. Crescent City and Hollywood are sorta kinda DIFFERENT! DUH !
