Divisive legislator Scott Wiener (author of failed SB 827 and failed SB 50) is still trying to impose his community killing bills on all of us.
In 2020, he has rushed bad bills through his Housing Committee with virtually no media coverage due to COVID-19.

SB 1120.... (Atkins-Wiener)
Multiple homes where one home now sits, many without parking.
This bill shatters ALL single-family zoning, statewide.
We expect mass speculation as thriving homeowner areas become unaffordable rentals.
Cities can overturn voter-approved citizen Initiatives that protect open space, shorelines and other sensitive land, to allow 10-unit luxury apartments pretty much everywhere — including on single-family streets.
SB 1085..... (Skinner)
The state's failing "density bonus" program, which falls far short in creating low-income housing, is terribly eroded.
This bill rewards developers who erect huge luxury buildings with fewer affordable units than ever.
AB 725..... (Wicks-Wiener)
Cities are forced to rezone single-family homes to erect dense apartments, in punishment for failing to meet the state's impossible targets for approving low-income housing, which the state refuses to finance.

He came back with SB50 which failed twice...
The first time it did not make it out of The Appropriations Committee, which opposed it, stopped by the Committee chair, Sen. Portantino.
The second try, The Appropriations Committee opposed again, but Senate pro tem President, Toni Atkins, a Wiener buddy, had the power to move it out of that committee and get it straight to the Senate floor, which she did, but it Failed again.
On Jan. 29, 2020.... Sen. Wiener's SB50 Failed to get enough votes to make it out of the Senate to the Assembly.
He has come back again with similar bills, and in spite of certain Senators expressing concerns about bills that upzone and create more density in communities, in light of the pandemic crisis, he has been using the Covid-19 crisis to by pass the series of committees bills normally go to, and has been getting his bills to just one, HIS Housing Committee that HE chairs, and then straight to the Senate floor.
Our representative, Senator Ben Allen has voted against SB827 and SB50.
But the upcoming bills may get through this time.
Let's get Weiner defeated and out of the State Senate. He won't stop until he has destroyed our Cities and neighborhoods. He is a totalitarian!
