Hollywood Bowl Community Advisory Notes

Latest news from April 22 meeting: Updated with Angela's info distribution signup at https://mailchi.mp/4fcb323b4cd3/hbneighborhood * Placards for car dashboards should be ready for distribution by the neighborhood association. This year's color is CANARY YELLOW. Placards are bigger, so security guards can spot residents easier on road closure days. You can also pick up placards at the office of the advisory group at the offices under the Richard D. Colburn Orchestra Lounge inside the Hollywood Bowl * Hard closures will return to the Highland intersection of Milner and Camrose. So don't plan on exiting or entering Whitley Heights on those days. Closure dates still aren't certain yet, but expect announcements in advance. The plan is to limit to large events (10,000+ people) on weeknights, when rush hour traffic meets the bowl crush. * Traffic Watch information on future closures and other traffic-clogging events is at http://onlyinhollywood.org/alerts/ You can subscribe to alerts there * Sign-up for information with Angela Babcock, the Bowl liaison, at angela@stratiscope.com She's moving to a "Mail Chimp" list https://mailchi.mp/4fcb323b4cd3/hbneighborhood soon so she can serve more people. She wants to know your complaints about Bowl traffic, noise, other issues. And also share good news Dates to watch: * April 26: Sound check 6-10 p.m. for the April 27 Korea Times Music Festival * May 4: First likely hard closure for Bowl appearance by Chris Tomlin Worship * May 18: Little Mermaid at the Bowl coincides with a movie premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre, closing Hollywood Boulevard * June 1: Pancake breakfast at the Bowl Stay tuned: * Left turn lane from Highland to Lot B probably won't happen till 2020 * Mobile digital signs (like the ones that let you know if you're speeding) coming soon to help announce traffic detours or crowding impacted by Bowl events * Credit card payments now being accepted at parking lots to speed up traffic that's often been stalled by drivers fishing for cash
