Roof Top Decks, Music, Noise....
Hill area residents may be getting cumulative sounds through the night from more than just The Dream Hotel Roof Top Deck.
There are additional Roof Top Decks operating in the area now, but evidently The Dream Hotel is the loudest..
At least 17 hotels are proposed for the area and all will request and get Roof Top Decks, the new 'Open Space' in the new Vertical Hollywood.
Residential projects are also including Roof Top Decks.
Right now The Dream Hotel is a big problem and below is some information regarding contact info., when music, noise through the night, is out of control...
...and Planning Commission Hearing info. for anyone who may want to submit comments to, or attend the hearing for the second Dream Hotel now going up, The Dream Hotel II on Wilcox and Selma.
Also, there's a new website and Facebook Page/Forum, created by Casey Maddren, area resident and President of United Neighborhoods for Los Angeles (UN4LA), to address these quality of life issues in the area:

Dream Hotel and Dream Hotel II Planning Commission Hearing Info:
Dream Hotel operates an illegal nightclub on their rooftop.
They have been a problem since their 3rd day of opening.
Last summer they were busted twice for public dancing and twice for charging a cover charge, both of which they are not allowed to do.
There are politics involved that keep them somewhat protected but please email/call Officer Ben Thompson, LAPD VICE.
The more feedback he gets the better.

CD13 Council office has also specifically asked to be contacted about this issue, so please email:

craig.bullock@lacity.org
Dream Hotel also has a "hotline" for complaints, but they either don't answer it, or don't care and nothing happens.
They have three other hotels with Rooftop Decks/Entertainment Venues, under construction within a block.
(MaMa Shelter is on one of those Selma Ave.- Wilcox blocks and they also have a Roof Top Deck/Entertainment Venue)
One of which, Dream Hotel II, has a City Planning Commission hearing next Thursday.
Dream Hotel II Hearing Info:
Dream Hotel II, now being called Selma Wilcox Hotel (next door to Dream Hotel)

There are plans for TWO bars on the Dream Hotel II Roof Top Deck....

There are many more hotels proposed for the area and on streets very close to Whitley Heights and all will most likely have Roof Top Decks.

Thanks for all the information, Annie. We have definitely been disturbed by the loud music that goes on until at least 2:30 in the morning. I’ll write in.
