Leaning Eucalyptus on Milner
The Hollywood Bowl will trim a mature eucalyptus tree on Milner this Wednesday, 6/15, between 7:00 AM until about 12:00 Noon. The lopsided canopy projects over Milner Road and could snap in high winds. After months of map assessment, the tree is on County land, not City's jurisdiction as originally thought.
The job will require a sizable truck with a 100’ foot boom. During this work, Milner & Highland will not be accessible. Please use other routes driving on an off the hill.
Special thanks to HHWNC Area 3 Chair, Brian Dyer and Jason Maruca, Field Deputy, County Supervisor Barger, Fifth District.

A 1926 map shows Milner dead-ending at Las Palmas. Vintage photos feature a dense forest of eucalyptus trees in this area fed by an underground stream. The ravine behind Las Palmas once flowed with fresh water and crayfish.

WHCA continues to strike a balance - protect the community as well as maintain the health of our precious trees.
