Franklin Water Main Repair

Update7/22/2017

On Sunday, July 2, a 100 year old, twelve inch water main broke underneath Franklin between Grace and Cahuenga. The closure will remain for approximately two months while Phase One of the work – repair of the broken water main - is completed.

When Phase One is finished, the Department of Water and Power will start Phase Two - replacement of the antiquated water main from Grace to Highland. This is estimated to take an additional three months, meaning it will be five months until Franklin is completely reopened.

In order for Department of Water and Power to move in the necessary equipment, parking on Franklin will have signage posted as “no parking from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.” The Department of Water and Power is aware of the high need for parking in the area and is keeping the neighborhood in mind.

Hollywood infrastructure problem 1931. Some things never change.
