Street Light Repairs Have Begun!
Too early to celebrate? Beginning Monday, October 31, a crew has begun working to convert the wiring on the hill from high voltage incandescent to low voltage LED lighting. This means all the 100-year-old wiring for the streetlights will be replaced, which should finally put an end to our constant outages. I spoke to the supervisor in charge, Harry Batikian, who told me the repairs should be finished before the end of the year, and hopefully by Thanksgiving. I'm sure the crews on the hill will be grateful for any refreshments or even gratitude we can offer them while they are here. They and their foreman and supervisor are all aware of how long we have been in the dark and working hard to light us up. Our appreciation will certainly be noticed! I will keep in touch with Harry as work progresses and post any relevant updates. Dreaming of a Light Christmas!

This is excellent news. To have consistently working street lamps will be wonderful. I dont want to push my luck, but if we have the choice we should request lower color temperature LED bulbs (2200K). This will provide a nice warm glow instead of the normal institutional classroom feel of most LED bulbs which lean blue.
