PROJECT STATUS UPDATE

Overall Status- Our LADWP crews are making significant progress during the first month of construction and are still on track to complete the water improvements by May 2018. However, we did encounter a number of field issues with gas services and sewer laterals being mismarked. Other than a few setbacks, the job is going well.

Work Completed- To avoid any further impacts from the Franklin Ave mainline project, we began construction on November 6th and have installed nearly half of the new pipeline in Phase 1. Once Phase 2 is approaching, we will provide another update.

Street Closures- As mentioned previously, Phase 1a will include the closure of Whitley Ave from Franklin Ave to Padre Terrace and Phase 1b will include the closure of Padre Terrace to Whitley Terrace. Local access will still be provided. For residents who live on Whitley Terrace, Milner Ave, and Wedgewood Pl, Grace Ave can be used as a detour for access.

Work Hours- Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM. Residents will be notified in advance if the work schedule changes at any time.

Most importantly, we would like to thank the residents for being extremely cooperative during this project. Another update will be provided in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I have attached some photos from the progress of our water system improvements.
