HHWNC and Councilmember Ryu do not support 2000 N. Highland hotel conversion. It remains resident's Home Sweet Home.

Good news! Last night HHWNC unanimously opposed 2000 N. Highland being turned into a hotel, transient hotel, Airbnb...which part of it already has been turned into..

Even better, councilmember Ryu’s planning person, Emma Howard attended and announced the councilmember will not support the conversion.

Thank goodness it’s in CD4 and not in CD13 where residents are losing their homes on a regular basis, replaced with hotels, no matter the HHWNC opposition. In the midst of a housing and homeless crisis it’s unseemly to keep removing residential housing, and in residential zones, for hotels.

Congratulations to the residents who hung in there through years of abuse from owners.

Thank you if you attended meetings, called, emailed, to support keeping the building residential and keeping residents in their homes.

And many thanks to HHWNC and Councilmember Ryu. 💐

Way to go Annie! We can't let anyone with money wipe out the homes of people who will have NOWHERE ELSE TO GO. Developers... please go pick on someone else!
