Hi Area 3 Stakeholders,
Heads up! Hollywood Community Plan Final EIR Draft released... The Hollywood Community Plan Update addresses planning issues, including land use, housing, affordable housing, mobility, historic preservation, and open space through the year 2040.
On August 17, the Department of Planning released the Final Environmental Impact Report for the updated Hollywood Community Plan. On August 18, the Planning Department released the Letter of Determination. The letter of determination holds changes recommended by the Planning Commission. There are many, many changes that are recommended for the way development in the Hollywood Community will be approached, including intensifying incentives for housing density around transit systems. The next steps are for the plan to go before the City Council’s PLUM committee, and then onto the full council. The Council File number for the Hollywood Community Plan Update is CF 21-0934. Area 3 / Area 4 / Housing / Business / Public Safety Meeting Monday, September 13, 6:30 PM, Zoom There will be a meeting of the Area 3 / Area 4 / Housing / Business / Public Safety on September 13. 2021.
Among the items to be discussed will be:
- Airbn regulation registration and enforcement
- Stakeholder participation with LAPD on the Boulevard
- Future of Al Fresco dining program, and
- Buscaino/Lee motion, which was adopted June 29, and which added an amendment to the City Code that will specifies the particular times and locations where it is unlawful for a person to sit, lie, or sleep on public property.

Hollywood Boulevard Street Closures Sept 9 - Blvd: Hand & Footprint Ceremony (this will be lifted before Bowl traffic)
5:00 AM – 4:00 PM North and south curb lanes, and the #2 westbound lane, of Hollywood Blvd., between Highland Ave. and Orange Dr., will be closed.
Additionally, the north sidewalk from Orange Dr. east to Awards Walk will be closed. Traffic alert - be prepared: The Bowl and the Ford Theater Events happen on same days/same time The county has now given operation of the Ford Theater to the LA Philharmonic.
Many of the Ford and Bowl events coincide on the same date.
Expect heavy traffic in and around the neighborhoods.
