Residents of 'Historic Cultural Monument' on Highland being pushed out for potential conversion into another Hotel...
Another owner of a residential building in Hollywood, Historic Cultural Monument 'Roman Gardens' on Highland Ave., below Las Palmas, is requesting a change of use from Residential to yet another hotel or short term airbnb.
This has been going on all over the area on a regular basis....wiping out residential and affordable housing, in residential zones, and replacing with hotels, owners, landlords, abusing residents to get them out, while tons of hotels are being built, usually in CD13 (Ofarrell), this one is in CD4, our council district (David Ryu)
Remaining residents have been living among hotel 'guests', strangers coming and going, late night partying, have been mistreated, many have left.
Proposal was rejected at HHWNC area 3 meeting. (see motion on agenda)
It goes to HHWNC full board tonight.
If you are sick of this habitual kicking residents to the curb for hotels, etc., wiping out good residential, affordable housing stock, as city leaders claim we desperately need more housing, but are only building luxury housing and hotels, please come and speak out.
Also contact councilmember.ryu@lacity.org
Not sure what owner wants to do with the Tower of the Historic Cultural Monument building, , (see agenda), but if you are on or near Las Palmas, you might want to find out.
