Area 3 input/ HHWNC/HCPU letter to the city

Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council has made their 'proposed response letter' to the city available on their website, based on all their stakeholders/ community input regarding the Hollywood Community Plan Update. Our Area 3 Chair, Brian Dyer held joint Hollywood Community Plan Update meetings with Area 4 (Hollywood Heights) Chair, Joyce Dyrector  and our HHWNC Housing Chair, Luminita  Roman, also an Area 3 resident, where stakeholders from the community went through the HCPU together and had the opportunity to share concerns, suggest changes, and their input was discussed, recorded, and brought to HHWNC ad hoc committee for inclusion in HHWNC's letter to the city ... HHWNC has NINE areas. The letter is very representative of issues, concerns  brought up at our meetings. Where you see 'Area 3'... that's US. Where you see references to TOC's.. we are now a TOC, 'Transit Oriented Community', (Measure JJJ), which allows more height/density developments than previously allowed, and dismisses respecting character of the area, all around us, so there are references to 'TOC' developments, to protect  neighborhoods  that will be impacted by these larger, out of scale and character projects, especially on HPOZ adjacent streets, like Whitley Ave., where the developer who wants to demo the original 1920-22 N. Whitley Ave. original 1922 house, is exploring doing his project under a TOC so he can get more height and density than previously allowed on Whitley Ave., proposed project is very out of character for the area, and he has requested a roof top deck..very close to our neighborhood. Intrusive, sometimes entertainment, roof top decks in our residential communities also made it into the letter.

You can google Measure JJJ/TOC's to read about what it means to now be a TOC community.

Our NC board members volunteer their time, and our Area Chairs  graciously set up these  extra HCPU Area meetings to hear from their communities, and share that community input with the full HHWNC board to be included in their letter to the city, as the city takes comments from communities around Hollywood for the Hollywood Community Plan Update..

To All HHWNC Stakeholders,

Please be aware that the HHWNC ad hoc committee on the Hollywood Community Plan Update 2 has written a proposed response to The Plan, which will be considered at the February 21 HHWNC Board Meeting.

The response letter, along with supplemental materials (meeting minutes, stakeholder feedback, letters from community groups and HOAs) can be reviewed and downloaded through the links available on HHWNC's website. Also included are links to the various HCPU2 documents. Please follow this link to access these HHWNC and City Planning documents.
