Hello Area 3 Stakeholders,

Welcome to the Fall. Hopefully, cooler weather is on the way (rain predicted for the weekend.)

You may have noticed that there are new, branded signs in Area 3. Thanks to Council District 13, we are getting branded signage directing people to parking and the iconic landmarks in Hollywood. It is part of the "Heart of Hollywood" project.

Have you planned for Fire Season, combined with an Earthquake? Last Fall’s Malibu fires coupled with the recent 7.1 Ridgequest earthquake and its subsequent tremors remind us that Mother Nature often has the last laugh.

Two helpful events to mitigate natural disasters are happening....

Here are opportunities for you to learn how to react to Mother Nature appropriately. More than 5,136 wildfires in California have already been counted in the 2019 wildfire season. Your first event is being held by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD is holding Town Hall meetings on an evacuation exercise for the Hollywood Hills. You have two times to choose from....Oct. 8th and Oct. 16th..see below. We have seen the Sepulveda Pass susceptible, and more recently, our own Cahuenga pass. This evacuation process only works if you are informed. Please plan on participating in the evacuation exercise Your second event is the Great California Shakeout. Please visit this wonderful website to make sure you are prepared and consider participating with more than 8 million others. https://www.shakeout.org/california/

Preferred Parking District 64 addition petition.

Currently, in Area 3, there are two parking districts serving you. PPD 99 is North of Franklin. PPD 64 is South of Franklin and extends down to Santa Monica (yes, you can use your annual PPD 64 pass south of Sunset where posted). A petition is circulating to restrict parking on Whitley Ave. south of Franklin. If you are interested in more information on this issue, please contact me for more information. If you are against the PPD, please let me know as well.
