Meet and Greet in the Park
Deputy Tim Tellez will be on hand Thursday July 19th at 9:00 AM. The Parks Bureau division of the Sheriff Department has transformed Picnic Areas 11, 12 and 13 behind the Hollywood Heritage Museum. Please come for coffee in Area 11 - Milner/Parking Lot D.

Then: Two years ago the park was filled with transients, gang taggings, and drug paraphernalia. Whitley Heights neighbors formed a committee and began working with law enforcement, County officials, the Hollywood Bowl. The goal was to clean up and activate the picnic grove. In August of 2017 WHCA sponsored a Bob Baker Marionette show. In October the committee organized a graffiti removal workshop.
Next month, on Sunday August 12th, WHCA will host Shakespeare in OUR Park. LA Drama Club will create 3 workshops for kids of all ages. More about that in our next newsletter

Today: Lieutenant Ruble calls this sweet park an oasis among the vast areas of County land that the Sheriff Department patrols. Deputy Tellez can explain how they achieved this feat.

Thank you Patty and Brian! It’s so. Ice to have the park looking good and feeling safe and welcoming.
