Wednesday, Dec 9th... Hollywood Community Plan Update Virtual Open House and Public Hearing

Dear Hollywood Stakeholder, The virtual Open House and Public Hearing for the Hollywood Community Plan Update is scheduled for December 9, 2020. The Plan update would encourage more housing and jobs, preserve historic resources, improve pedestrian-friendly design, and address climate change through the year 2040 by making policy and land use/zoning changes. A public hearing is a means to collect comments from stakeholders before the Plan update is brought to the City Planning Commission, and ultimately the City Council for adoption.

The Open House and Public Hearing is open to everyone who would like to participate.

• The draft Hollywood Community Plan with goals and policies that encourage opportunities for affordable housing, employment, preservation, open space, sustainability, and mobility. 

• See the proposed land use and zone changes that will help implement the goals and policies. 

• The proposed CPIO, a zoning tool, focuses on encouraging affordable housing production, protecting historic resources, and improving pedestrian-oriented design. Also, visit the interactive map.

(At Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council upcoming meeting, Wednesday night, (info. posted next) there is a motion that we stakeholders, and HHWNC committee chairs that were present, after much discussion, voted on at our recent HHWNC Area 3 meeting, that the neighborhood council should be involved in development projects, just as they are now. The HCPU cuts out all community participation, neighborhood council participation, and the public no longer can even 'appeal' projects. If the HHWNC board approves , that will be included in their letter to the the city.

Neighborhood Councils submit letters representing their communities to the city regarding the Community Plans.

Please try to attend the NC meeting this wednesday and support that.
