Livable California 'kill the bills' statewide teleconference call Sat. June 13th..10:00am.. with Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand

Teleconference Tomorrow, Sat. June 13, 10 am How to Fight a Legislature Keen on Density, with Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand

Please join us tomorrow, Sat. June 13 at 10 AM to meet Redondo Beach Mayor Bill Brand, a top leader in the fight to stop Sacramento from stripping cities of their land-use power, from paving neighborhoods with luxury buildings and from handing key planning power directly to developers. At 10,600 people per square mile, Redondo is far denser than Seattle, Portland, San Diego. Yet Bay Area legislators, led by Scott Wiener, seek to jam Redondo and 800 cities with dense luxury housing. None will be spared, whether South L.A, East Los Angeles, Paramount, Santa Barbara, Pico Rivera, Santa Clarita or Fresno. Disputing the lessons of COVID19 and density, legislators are doubling down on Wiener’s failed theories to create affordable housing.

They seek to kill:

  • single-family zoning

  • density limits

  • public hearings

  • environmental protection

Those are the “moderate” bills. Many bad bills are rushing through committee. On Saturday, Mayor Brand will discuss how to fight the worst bills. Start NOW by sending auto-letters, against SB 1120, SB 902, SB 1085 and SB 995.

A smart pro-community bill to support is SB 1299. Please join us with Bill Brand, on Saturday, June 13 at 10 am!
