A Tradition of Service
The four deputies pictured below, Lofton, Johnson, Munoz, and Tellez, make up the Sheriff Department's Special Problems Team. They patrol a vast area of County land that includes our sweet park behind the Hollywood Heritage Museum. These men are dedicated to keeping us safe. Thanks to their efforts the 18th Street Gang no longer has a presence.

Sadly, Deputy Johnson passed away on February 6th. Kevin was a gentle man with a generous smile and good sense of humor. He will be very missed.

A memorial service is scheduled for February 20th at 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel 12808 Woodruff Avenue, Downey, CA 90242. Deputy Tim Tellez invites our community to attend. I plan to go.
Todd Manion and I will organize coffee with pastries one morning in March or April in Picnic Area 11 - giving neighbors an opportunity to thank the deputies as well as express our condolences. Sergeant Chahine, Captain Chavez, Bowl Operations staff will be invited. Senior Field Deputy Fernando Morales for Supervisor Kuehl's Western Division is already keen to attend.

Dear Patty and Todd:
That is very thoughtful of you folks.
I will try to attend for sure.
Regards,
Carl
