WHCA Centennial Celebration: 1920s Fashion Ideas
Hi! Several neighbors will be dressing up in 1920s fashions next Sunday (October 8) and we encourage anyone interested to do the same. :) If you need inspiration, here are a few ideas...
For the ladies, of course Flappers are the most notable—dresses with beading and fringe, long necklaces, headbands, boas, elbow-length gloves.
Other popular trends were loose dresses with drop-waists and layered fabric, hats that fit close to the head.
Or if you’re looking for something more casual: silk pajamas, kimonos, pleated skirts, button-down blouses with wide-legged trousers.
For the men… on the dressier side: three-piece suits accessorized with pocket watches. Casual styles included smoking jackets, striped blazers, sweater vests and trousers, button-down shirts with suspenders. Hat trends were fedora, boater, newsboy, Panama.

After reading this wonderful post, I wandered down to Hollywood Toys & Costumes store and bought sring of pearl and elbow gloves.
Valentino's wife, Natacha Rambova, was quite the Roaring 20s fashion plate, too.
Vogue photographer Baron Adolph de Meyer lived at 6738 Wedgewood with his socialite wife, Olga. His portrait of Josephine Baker in 1925.
