Hollywood Community Plan Update 2 CPIOs and how they affect the neighborhood.  Wednesday, Nov. 11th, 6:30PM, the Area 3, Area 4, Housing and Infrastructure Committees will hold a meeting to discuss the August 2020 draft of the Hollywood Community Plan Update 2's (HCPU2) Community Plan Implementation Overlays (CPIO). The two CPIOs suggested for HHWNC and specifically for Area 3 are the Regional Center and Multi-family residential. In 2018, Area 3 and the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council sent comments to the Planning Department on the original draft. Some of those issues have been affected. Some issues are not addressed. The meeting will go through the CPIOs and what it means to the neighborhoods should they be adopted. For some there will be positives. For some, there will be negative outcomes. The meeting will be held digitally on Zoom. If you would like to comment, please also dial in by phone. Mithc O'Farrell's Heart of Hollywood project would eliminate all street parking on Hollywood Blvd from Gower to LaBrea. All cars would have to park in one of three pay lots - the Hollywood and Highland garage, a lot near Pep Boys, and one in between. Then you'd have to walk. The plan ELIMINATES two lanes from Hollywood Blvd between Gower and LaBrea, turning it into a two lane road with a third center lane for turning. Under normal non-covid conditions, during our now nearly year long Bowl season, Hollywood Blvd has the best traffic flow typically, While Franklin and Sunset are a parking lot, as you are all aware. Eliminating two lanes from Hollywood Blvd would create a nightmare for us all. The Heart of Hollywood survey does not even have an option where you can say you do not like it. It's rigged to make it appear as though all people who take the survey like this plan. This is O'Farrell's doing (CD13 councilman). This will have a direct and dire effect on the quality of life of all of us in Whitley Height's. It's extremely important that all of us pay attention to this, and speak up about it.
