About the event

The Whitley Heights Civic Association is pleased to welcome acclaimed journalist and author Jonathan Vigliotti for an intimate evening of conversation, community, and reflection as part of the WHCA Salon Series.

A CBS News correspondent and longtime international reporter, Vigliotti has reported from more than three dozen countries and covered some of the most consequential stories of our time — from natural disasters and humanitarian crises to climate-related catastrophes and global conflict. His reporting has earned numerous distinctions for its depth, clarity, and humanity. In his new book, Torched: How a City Was Left to Burn, and the Olympic Rush to Rebuild L.A., Vigliotti examines the devastating 2025 Los Angeles wildfires and the larger questions they raise about climate, civic leadership, development, resilience and the future of the city we call home.

The evening will feature a live conversation between Jonathan Vigliotti and film producer, director, screenwriter, author and neighbor…
